Hi, what are you looking for?

Lawton

An Interview with Lawton’s Mykel Hollman – Presented by Bank of Commerce

VYPE: Who inspires you?

Mykel: My father because he pushes me to be the best on and off the field. He just wants the best for me and he’s hard on me but I know he just wants me to go hard at everything I do in life.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Mykel: I have been playing since I was six years old. The game itself brings the best out of me. I just love the game. There is no other sport better football is the ultimate team sport.

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?

Mykel: When my whole entire team helped out and did community work for the elderly people at the Lawton nursing home.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Mykel: I would say that just putting on the LHS jersey and representing the town and going against Eisenhower is just the best.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Mykel: Don’t let my height and size stop me from being great.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Mykel: Odell Beckham because his route running is second to none, his work ethic, his catching ability is out of this world, and his body control when it comes to the red
zone.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Mykel: Mrs. Gonzalez was my fifth grade teacher. She was always in my corner when I needed her the most and she was the only person that understood me at times.

VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities?

Mykel: Right now I’m involved in a program called Open Doors. It prepares you for college life and how to adjust to independence.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Mykel: Japan because they have good food and they are up to date on electronics. The culture is fascinating. And the person I would want to come is my teammate Nijon Polk.
