Elgin’s Kamber Crow – Presented by Arvest Bank

Being a softball player requires a great deal of skill and agility. For Elgin High School softball player Kamber Crow, she can be considered especially talented. As a freshman, she’s tasked with the responsibilities of playing Right Field and Third Base for the Elgin Owls.

When Kamber plays Third Base, she is not only responsible for covering Third Base, but also fielding any balls from teammates to try to get the hitter out, as well as being able to throw to the catcher to cause an out.

As a right fielder, Kamber oversess backing up the Center Fielders on balls hit to center field, and the first baseman on hits and throws to third base.

Kamber’s start in softball began at the incredibly young age of 4 years old.

Kamber gets joy from simply being a part of the team. Kamber stated, “My favorite part of softball is being around the team.”

Many memories are created in high school sports. Kamber reflected on her favorite memory. “My favorite memory of softball is when my teammate Kelby put eye black on me even if I didn’t want it.”

In terms of who has inspired Kamber thus far in her life, she looks to both family and her team as the source. She stated, “My papa and my coaches have really influenced me the most.”

As far as her favorite athlete, Kamber noted a University of Oklahoma softball player. Kamber declared, “My favorite athlete is Jayda Coleman; she just has this energy that seems to get everyone fired up.”

For academics, Kamber’s favorite subject is math.

After she graduates high school, Kamber aspires to pursue higher education. Kamber proclaimed, “I want to go to college and attend either The University of Oklahoma or Cameron University.”

Off the softball field, and outside the classroom Kamber said, “I like to hang out with family, and friends, and play blitz ball.”
