Altus Area Softball & Football Unsung Heroes and Underclassmen to Watch – Presented by Jackson County Orthopedic Clinic

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Softball

Baylee Pence – Altus

Baylee plays catcher, is the lead-off hitter, and is the source of our energy on the field. She’s a great player, but it is her leadership that sets her apart.

Kynnedy Guthrie – Navajo

She is the team’s ace pitcher and steps on the mound with confidence and grit. When she’s not pitching, she plays shortstop.

Underclassmen to Watch Football

Brodie Rogers – Altus

Brodie is a solid athlete that works hard and will be an impact player for the Bulldogs.

Willy Cramer – Frederick

Cramer rushed for 156 yards as a freshman last season. He will have a much bigger role this year.

Jaxon Allison – Hobart

Young athlete with good size and a good understanding of the game and his assignments.

Xavier Cervantes – Hollis

Xavier is a student of the game and plays with a tremendous motor.

Jake Green – Mangum

A big and tall athlete that still is not done growing. Green is strong, fast, and physical and a multi- sport athlete that will break out into the scene this year.

Softball

Maci Hayes – Altus Maci is a great utility player who can play

anywhere along with being a quality pitcher. She lead the team in hitting last

season as a freshman.

Sabrina Gilbert – Navajo

Sabrina was a huge part of the lineup last year. She will be the catcher this year

after waiting her time behind an all-state catcher last year.

Unsung Heroes

Softball

Zoe Grubaugh – Altus

Grubaugh is a tough athlete that works hard on and off the field. She is always ready and willing to help the team in anyway she can.

Emry Solis – Navajo Emry is a quiet leader who leads by example.

She spends hours of her own time getting extra cuts in and taking groundballs. She makes the infielders look good by digging bad throws and even had a stretch that ended up in the splits in the state tournament. She outworks everyone and it shows on the field.
