Lawton MacArthur’s Boux DeLong – Presented by Traci Green Properties

Boux DeLong is a dominant athlete to look out for this Spring season.

Boux is a sophomore at Lawton Macarthur High School, and he plays baseball and football. During football season, Boux is an impressive wide receiver and safety, and as baseball season quickly approaches, Boux will be seen controlling the middle infield. He says that he has been playing baseball for “as long as he can remember” and has been playing football since second grade.

Boux became involved in athletics at a young age because he was influenced by his family.

“Sports runs through my family and I was always around it when I was little,” he says.

Boux is thankful for the athletic genes that can be observed throughout his family, because that allowed for sports to “come natural to [him],” even at a young age.

Being involved in sports for a majority of his life, Boux quickly learned that what he loves most about sports is the competitive aspect.

“I am a really competitive person and hate to lose,” he says.

He also values the relationships that he has formed along the way.

“I also enjoy being around my friends and teammates making memories I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” Boux says.

For anyone who is considering pursuing football or baseball, Boux encourages future athletes to “dedicate yourself, always give 110%, and be willing to work harder than everyone else while also having fun and enjoying every minute of it.”

Being an athlete is fun, but also takes an immeasurable amount of hard work and effort in order to grow and reach success. Boux has learned through his time in athletics that “failure is a lesson to be learned,” and in order to be successful, it is important to apply the lessons that have been learned through failure.
