Altus’ Presley Bagwell – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Farm Credit of Western Oklahoma

Altus High School basketball player and track team manager Presley Bagwell is a member of the FFA chapter at school thanks to the encouragement of her parents.

“I was always encouraged to get involved with FFA by my mom and dad growing up. I have always loved sports and was encouraged by my parents to compete in athletics too. My mom and dad have been huge influences in my life. They push me to be the best I can be. They always encourage me to follow my passions and dreams. My grandpa has also been a huge influence in my life because he always told me that you must dream big to accomplish everything you want in life. All three of these people have encouraged me and pushed me to be who I am today,” said Bagwell.

At a very young age, Bagwell started showing pigs. Her love for showing livestock has continued with her involvement in FFA.

“I started showing pigs when I was two years old. I then got involved with FFA when I was in eighth grade at Blair. What I enjoy most about being in FFA is showing pigs. I have always been competitive and loved having a family activity to participate in. The atmosphere in a show barn is absolutely exhilarating,” said Bagwell.

Bagwell has been involved in many activities with her chapter including opening and closing ceremonies and this semester Bagwell plans on competing with the FFA creed speaking contest and participating in livestock judging.

Bagwell has enjoyed being a member of the basketball team.

“What I love most about being on the basketball team is the experiences I have gained and the connections I have made with my coaches and teammates. It will hopefully bring me a lot of opportunities in the future and lifelong friendships,” said Bagwell.
