Altus’ Mom of the Month: Megan Maahs Greer – Presented By JCMH Women’s Health Associates

Megan Maahs Greer helped found the Altus Tennis Booster Club last year.

“We have done our best to get funds together to make sure kids have everything they need,” Maahs Greer said.

Her twin daughters, Kenli and Kelbi, star for the Altus High School girls tennis team in the No. 1 singles spot and No. 1 doubles spot,” but Maahs Greer lends her efforts to the girls and boys teams.

“[Megan] supports all of the kids at their matches, brings treats and volunteers to help whenever the program needs,” Altus tennis head coach Mark Dabelstein said. “Megan always brings a positive attitude and does so much for all of us. She never asks for anything in return. We love having her with us.”

“I feel that our ‘team’ is made up of the boys and girls together, and they should be supported as such,” Maahs Greer said.

Maahs Greer’s sister, Shalee Maahs, graduated from Altus in 2016 and played tennis. Megan, Kenli and Kelbi attended every tournament, inspiring the young Greer sisters to pick up the sport. Megan has done just about everything within her power to facilitate their tennis dreams.

“It truly takes a village of teamwork to make these things happen for the kids, and that’s what it’s all about,” Maahs Greer said. “Without our great group of parents and sponsors, this couldn’t happen. We are lucky to have had this group of kids and parents that we’ve had this season.”

In putting her best foot forward for Altus tennis, Maahs Greer hopes to rub off on Kenli and Kelbi.

“I hope that my daughters will do the same for their kids and their teammates and friends one day,” Maahs Greer said. “I really do consider it to be a privilege to be their mother and be able to be involved in all of their activities.”
