Duncan’s Katelin Ramirez – Presented by Delaine Parker Shelter Insurance

Sports have been a part of Katelin Ramirez’s life for quite some time. She currently plays soccer for Duncan High School and during her career, she has enjoyed some memorable moments with her teammates but she has one that stands out as her favorite. “I think the highlight moment of my career would have to be when we beat Cache at home during my sophomore year,” she recalled. “The win was great and I also enjoyed celebrating the win in the locker room with my teammates afterwards.”

Ramirez, who is a senior, has had anumber of people that have played an influential role in her life and helped her become the person that she is today. “My mom and dad are amazing role models to me,” she said. “They have taught me so much and always push me to do my best and achieve my goals. My great grandparents are also amazing role models. They are some of my biggest supporters and the love they have for our huge family amazes me.”

As a student in the classroom, Ramirez has learned from a number of teachers and she says that there is one that has played a big role in her life. “Mrs.Prichard has had the biggest impact on my life,” she said. “She is my internship teacher and she has really helped me understand what I want to do after high school and has taught us so many things for the future.”

There has been a large amount of time and effort that Katelin has invested so that she can be at her best when she steps out on the field. She also nows that her fellow teammates have played a role as well.“It takes a lot to be successful,” she said. “For me, it has taken hard work, determination, and encouragement from my family. I enjoy working against everyone in practice because we all push each other to do our best.” Along with playing soccer for Duncan, Katelin is also a member of the National Honor Society and the internship program at the high school.
