Duncan Area Hometown Hero Nominees 2022 – Presented By Coaches Corner

Jaylen Niedo (Cache) – Jaylen is a multi-generation student-athlete at Cache. He has had many family members that have had successful athletic careers when they were in high school, and Jaylen is following in their footsteps and is also an outstanding kid.

Kole Scott (Central Marlow) – Kole is an amazing kid that loves helping the younger kids in PE class. Kole also enjoys his time with his best friend Beth who has Down Syndrome. Kole, Beth, and Kole’s girlfriend all went to prom together. Kole is an all-around great kid.

Lauren Buben (Duncan) – Lauren loves her school and town. She loves cheering on the Demons whether it’s football or basketball. She gives her time to make posters as decorating halls to show her school spirit. She works long hours outside of school to plan events to help the student council raise lots of money for our community. She is the first to volunteer and has such a positive and loving spirit.

Trace Thomason (Indiahoma) – Trace is one of those students that is always helping someone with something. His strong desire for success has driven him to complete his associate degree from Western Oklahoma State College prior to graduating high school. He is involved in several schools and community projects including Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, member of the Academic Team, varsity basketball player, state qualifier in golf, and a member of the Church of Christ.

Julius Koons (Ringling) – He is a standout player on the football field and an upstanding young man off the field. He has a 4.0 GPA and is an outstanding example for young students to look up to.

Dalton Melton (Rush Springs) – Dalton is a leader on and off the field at Rush Springs. He is always ready to help out anyone that is in need.

Addy Smith (Velma-Alma) – A great example of a well-rounded student-athlete, Addy excels at athletics and academics.

Karson Coleman (Walters) – Karson is a multi-sport athlete and is on pace to be valedictorian of his graduating class also with a 4.0 GPA. He was enrolled in AP Honors English as a sophomore. He served as a team captain last football season and started every game in his freshman and sophomore seasons.
