Hi, what are you looking for?

Duncan

Q&A with Duncan’s Brance Garrett – Presented By Delaine Parker – Shelter Insurance

VYPE: You pitched a crucial 2-0 shutout with 12 strikeouts in the state quarterfinal last year. Your team went on to win the 5A state championship. What’s running through your head in such a high-pressure situation like that?

BG: It was indeed a very tight situation, and I think in a position like that, it primarily comes down to how much confidence you have in yourself and executing absolutely every pitch to the best of your ability.

VYPE: What will it take for the Duncan Demons to repeat as state champions?

BG: Repeating State champs will be extremely tough. I honestly don’t know if it has ever been done. But if we play like we are capable and everything falls into place properly we will have a solid run after it.

VYPE: What’s your best pitch?

BG: My curveball and changeup are both pretty dirty when they are on. I’d say my change up is my best pitch.

VYPE: What’s one thing that everybody should know about Brance Garrett?

BG: Something everyone should know: I’m unstoppable and no matter what anyone else is doing, I’m working 10-times harder.

VYPE: You’re committed to play at Murray State next year. Why was Tishomingo the right place for you?

BG: I’m really looking forward to playing at Murray. It’s a great environment. I love the people and how they run things around baseball. I think this was the right place for me, allowing me two years to better myself and get my velocity up while working towards learning how to sell real estate.
