Oscar Russell is a junior at Cyril High School where he is a member of the varsity football and baseball teams. He is also a member of the powerlifting team. Away from sports, Russell is taking classes at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. He decided to take classes there to help jumpstart his future, giving him a solid foundation for a possible career in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning) field. 

“I decided to attend Caddo Kiowa Tech so I can learn a good trade,” said Russell. “What I have enjoyed most about my time at Caddo Kiowa Tech is working in the shop. You get to learn by actually doing the work.” 

Russell plans to continue his education after he graduates from Cyril High School. His goal is to work towards becoming a licensed plumber. Having both HVAC and plumbing skills will set Russell up for a long and prosperous career. 

Russell said he selected the HVAC program because he wanted to learn more about that line of work, and he wanted a program where he was able to learn hands-on. 

For Russell, having spent his junior year at Caddo Kiowa Tech, he is inspired to complete the course and graduate. He is looking forward to graduating from Cyril High School and going to work as an adult. The junior did offer some friendly advice to future Caddo Kiowa Tech students, “Pick a program you will like and stay off your phone!” 

Away from school, Russell said he enjoys hanging out with his friends.
