Q&A with Altus High School’s Ayden Poole – Presented by CENTURY 21 Altus Prestige Realty

By: Hunter Ferguson

Altus runner Ayden Poole recently completed an interview with VYPE.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for the year are that I’m going to win both the 100m and 200m at state this year and I’m going to run 10.6 and 22.2.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is qualifying for state with my relay in my first year of running track.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate who left the biggest impression on was a senior who graduated last year Terrance Green. I was never able to beat him and he pushed me to be better than my best at every opportunity and I couldn’t ask for a better 4×2 anchor.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being a bulldog is that we’re a family and we’re always pushing each other to be the best version of ourselves.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Two things track has taught me is to be patient and stay consistent and you will see results, and don’t take what you have in life for granted.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

My football coach told me it’s bigger than just one person and when everyone comes together with a common goal and puts all selfish endeavors aside something special happens.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

My mom inspires me the most she is the strongest person I know and has supported me and all my siblings in whatever we do 100% and always has our best interests at heart.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

I would like to shout out my mom and dad for raising me to be the man I am today, Coach Collins for making me the athlete I am now, all my seniors on the relay that graduated last year for always pushing me, Coach Calip and Coach Garrison for seeing the potential in me, and my entire bulldog family for always trying to get better and grow as a team.
