Q & A with Altus’ Claire Beason Presented by Jackson County Ortho

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why? 

Claire: Zoe Fleck because she always uplifts her teammates and is extremely driven when it comes to volleyball.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete? 

Claire: Showing people from other schools that our school can be and will be the best. 

VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing? 

Claire: Our team beating teams we’ve never beaten before until this year. 

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you? 

Claire: Keeley Brown. She’s shown me how to truly play the hitting position and I’ve picked up a lot of skills from her guidance. 

VYPE: Who inspires you? 

Claire: My older sister always puts people before herself and has the best attitude. 

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you? 

Claire: “Never give up just because someone told you you can’t succeed”

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you? 

Claire: Cinque Terre, Italy and I would take my sister Morgan.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal? 

Claire: Tamales
