Hobart’s Aiden Morris – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Harmon Memorial Hospital

??????????

There is a lot of preparation that is required for an athlete to be at the top of their game when it comes time to compete. Athlete’s like Aiden Morris know that if you want to reach the goals you have set for yourself, you have to be willing to do whatever it takes.

“It takes a lot to be successful,” Morris said. “It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. I also have my family and teammates to keep me motivated and to never give up.”

Aiden is a senior at Hobart High School, where he plays shooting guard for the Bearcats basketball team.

Throughout his career, he has enjoyed a lot of memorable moments as an athlete. But out of all of them, he says that the one that stands out the most is when he and his team made it to the state tournament.

“The highlight of my career so far would have to be making it to the Big House,” he recalled.

“Playing in that arena was really cool.”

Both as an athlete and a student, Aiden has had people that have had an impact on him and helped shape him into the person that he is today.

“One of my biggest influences is my cousin,” he said. “He always pushes me to be better and to head down the right path. A teacher that has been an influence for me is Mrs.Quintero. She always supports me in the bad and good games.”

The teammates that Aiden competes alongside are a solid group, and there are a few that

Aiden says help him with his game.

“Dayton Scott and I have always had that competitive edge between us and I think we make each other better,” Morris said. “Also, Justice Johnson makes me compete at a different level than most.”

Being able to wear the Bearcat uniform when he steps out on the court is something that Morris is proud to do.

“It means a lot to me to play in front of people who enjoy watching me play and making them happy,” he said.
