Reflecting on the educators who have left a lasting impact, Atticus credits his uncle, Mr. LJ Williams, for his guidance both in the classroom and on the court. “He helped me tons in his math class as well as in basketball,” Atticus explained, acknowledging the profound influence of his teacher and family member.
In both basketball and track, Atticus knows that success is earned through relentless hard work, the right support system and unwavering dedication. “Lots of hard work, having the right people around you as well as having good coaching and going 100% as much as possible.”
Among the highlights of his career, Atticus cherishes the moment he jumped 23’6 at Nike Indoor Nationals, a testament to his remarkable talent and dedication to his craft.
In the heat of competition, Atticus finds a special thrill in facing off against Elk City on the basketball court. “An opponent I enjoy playing against most would have to be Elk City in basketball,” he said, relishing the challenge of intense competition.
Looking ahead, Atticus plans to attend college and continue his track career while pursuing a major in engineering, a nod to his ambition and determination to excel both on and off the field.
Representing Clinton High School fills Atticus with a profound sense of pride, knowing that he follows in the footsteps of those who came before him, including his own parents. “Making everyone proud feels amazing,” he said, poised to continue his journey to success, both as an athlete and a student.
