Mangum’s Brice Ditmore – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Cattlemens Bank

Work is a key part of the success of any athlete. If they are not willing to work hard, they will have a tough time finding success. Brice Ditmore knows what it takes to be a successful athlete and says it is what has helped him get to where he is today.

“Determination is an important part of being successful,” he said. “You also have to work hard and also work to better yourself.”

Brice attends Mangum High School. The senior is a member of both the football and baseball teams. He has played baseball since he was 11 years old and currently plays in the outfield.

Mangum football head coach, Sam Powers, says that Ditmore is a hard worker and is always ready to do what he can to help his team.

“Brice is a big personality who makes everyone around him have a better day,” the coach said. “He is one of the most accountable and hardworking young men that you will find. He is a very selfless athlete as well who made the move from running back to offensive guard. He is a great kid and athlete.”

Throughout his career, Ditmore has made some memorable plays and he has shared some great moments with his teammates. But he says that there is one moment on the baseball field that stands out as his favorite.

“I think hitting the winning score in a tied game would have to be the highlight moment of my career,” he recalled.  “It was an exciting moment that I will not forget.”

And while he knows that the work he has put in has helped him become the athlete he is, he also knows that he could not have done it all alone.

“Coach Powers has been a big influence on me,” he said. “He always pushes me to be the best that I can be. I definitely would not be the athlete that I am today without him.”
