Mangum’s Jennifer Warner – Mom of the Month Presented by JCMH Women’s Health Associates

Jennifer Warner is what you would call a sports mom. The mother of four boys, all of whom were or are involved in athletics, says that there may have been times she did not feel up to it, but knew she had to be there.

“If it’s important to them, it should be important to me,” she said. “I only get so many years to watch them do what they love. When it’s over, it’s over and I can’t get it back.  Whether they say it or not, kids appreciate that you were there to support them, and they remember that forever. I’m blessed to have a job that allows me to be there and I’m grateful for that.”

With three of her sons already graduated from Mangum High School, Warner only has one son to watch compete.

“Aidan is a sophomore at MHS,” she said. “He is a quarterback and corner on the football team, guard in basketball, and infielder in baseball. Jackson graduated from MHS in 2020 and played football, baseball, and basketball. Jalen graduated from MHS in 2019 and played football, baseball, and was a powerlifter. And finally, Austin graduated from MHS in 2017 and played football, basketball, and baseball. I have loved and enjoyed watching all of my boys compete for the Tigers.”

One reason she enjoys it so much is how the community of Mangum supports the school and all the things they do.

“I love the way our community comes together for our kids and the things they are involved with,” she said. “We do fund raising through the booster club and it is never hard to get businesses or individuals to step up for anything that is needed. We put on the annual ‘Tiger Bash’ every fall and it feels like the entire town shows up. It is an amazing thing to see so many generations getting together to support our Tiger athletes.”

Throughout the years, Jennifer has enjoyed being involved with Mangum athletics in whatever way she can.

“Besides attending every game, my husband and I host team meals,” she said. “We have a great group of parents that come together and do those things for the kids. I have also been a member of the booster club for many years.”
