Wilson’s Karleigh Britt-Williams – FFA Spotlight – Presented By Oklahoma AgCredit

Karleigh Britt-Williams is a varsity softball player at Wilson High School and when she is not on the diamond making plays you can usually find her doing something that involves the FFA chapter at Wilson.

Britt-Williams first got involved in FFA during her freshman year. Now a junior, Karleigh said it was a family member who encouraged her to join.

“The person who got me involved would be my dad,” Karleigh said. “What I enjoy the most about FFA is being on my officer team. We have so much fun going on trips, which causes for great memories in our future that we get to look back on.”

Karleigh does a lot as a member of the FFA chapter, from showing animals to being on the skeet shooting team. But showing her animals is something she loves to do.

“I show pigs, cattle, and this year I have added to my list to show sheep,” Karleigh said. “My biggest influence would most definitely be my dad. He showed animals growing up and he loved the idea of me and my siblings showing so we tried it out, and it came out to be that we loved it and I am so very grateful for that opportunity that my dad pushed us to show. He has spent countless hours with me out in the barn cleaning pins, helping to get pigs walked, loading the trailer, and at every show I go to look for anything he’s got it ready to use. He’s always one step ahead to make sure we make it to the ring on time.”
Karleigh offers this advice to anyone looking join the FFA chapter.

“My advice for people to join the FFA would be, FFA has so much to offer you don’t have to have boots, or cows to be in the FFA. The program has something for everybody. You just have to find that something and run with it. Your Ag advisors will give you all the tools you need you just have use them,” said Karleigh.
