Marietta’s Kadence Bazor – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Oklahoma AgCredit

Kadence Bazor got her start in FFA while in the eighth grade. No surprise, it was her Ag teacher who happens to be her father that encouraged her to join.

“I have been an FFA member for almost four years now, and I joined my eighth grade year. My father, who is also the Ag teacher, was definitely my biggest inspiration to join the FFA,” said Bazor.

One thing that attracted Bazor to FFA was how many different activities a person could do and still have the ability to show animals.

“FFA is an awesome organization to be involved in. It’s a club that welcomes diversity. There are many different branches that cater to the different interests of students,” said Bazor. “I love the showing aspect of the FFA, but my most memorable experiences have come from the trips we take as a chapter. I show goats, does and wethers, and broiler chickens. I also design, fabricate and show ag mechanic projects.”

Her involvement in FFA certainly keeps her busy in and out of school, but Bazor finds time for other activities as a student at Marietta High School.

“On top of being in FFA, I am also in the high school marching band. I play the trumpet and direct the band as assistant drum major,” said Bazor.

When she gets a moment to relax, you can usually find her with a good book enjoying the outdoors.

“When I’m ready to relax, I grab whichever book I’m reading at the time and sit outside by the pool. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends on the weekends,” said Bazor.

Her future plans include college and one day owning her own business.

“I plan to attend Oklahoma State University and major in Animal Science. Eventually, I hope to get accepted into veterinary school and start my own practice,” said Bazor.

She offers this advice for any student wanting to join FFA or find out more information on their FFA chapter.

“Do it. You will not regret joining the FFA and putting on that jacket. The experiences and friendships you will make will last a lifetime,” said Bazor.
