Weatherford Football Preview: Defense – Presented by Weatherford Dental

Head coach – Reagan Roof

2021: 4-6

Defensively, the Eagles will use a 3-3-5 formation to highlight their top defensive players. The defense is led by some young guys who were productive last season. Defensive tackle Cutler Rollins (6-1, 275, So.) is the top returning tackler. He had 40 tackles last season as a freshman. Joining Rollins along the line is defensive end Cart Teasley (5-11, 205, Jr.). He totaled 27 tackles last season. At linebacker, Steele Chism (5-10, 195, So.) returns after totaling 31 tackles as a freshman. Finally, in the defensive backfield, Austin Shields (6-1, 160, Jr.) leads a group that will look to slow down some of the strong passing games in 4A. Assisting Roof this year are Taylor Sossamon, Cody Cantrell, Rob Renshaw, Blain Perkins, Cory Miller, Lantz Parks, Preston Roof, and Roger Howell.
