Nate Reherman is a junior at Weatherford High School and competes for the Eagles on the varsity basketball team. Last season the Eagles had a great year and made an appearance in the semifinals of the Class 4A state playoffs. This winter Reherman and his teammates are looking to repeat their success. With a solid group of players returning from last year’s team the Eagles are primed and ready to have a great season.
Currently standing at 6-6 Reherman has great size for basketball and first began playing the sport when he was five years old. Over the years Reherman has been working hard on his craft to expand all aspects of his game and has seen his hard work pay off. Coaches rave about Reherman’s defensive capabilities, rebounding, and ability to drive the ball to the rim.
As the season gets underway Reherman has a goal for this season: make it back to the playoffs. He said that his favorite memory so far in his young career occurred last year as a sophomore when Weatherford made a deep run in the playoffs.
To stay motivated Reherman reflects on some words of wisdom that were shared with him and he tries to apply them every day both on and off the court.
“Your work ethic has to match your goals if you expect to meet your goals,” Reherman said.
On the court Reherman knows he has the support of his coaches and teammates. While he likes competing in games and practices, Reherman said that one of his favorite things about basketball is the brotherhood and camaraderie he has been able to form with his teammates over the years.
Off the court Reherman appreciates the support he receives from friends and family. Reherman said that he considers his dad to be a motivational figure in his life and aspires to be like him.
After high school Reherman plans to further his education and playing career at the collegiate level. With two more years of high school ball ahead he is looking forward to making the most of his time in Weatherford.
