Q&A with Elk City’s Emma Mason – Presented By Paul Jones Drug

Elk City senior cheerleader Emma Mason is a two-time All-American in competitive cheer and was an All-State nominee. Mason is vice president of public relations for Elk City’s FCCLA and is a member of ECHS senior committee, FCA and Spanish Club. She spends her free time coaching tumbling and cheer, hiking, volunteering at her church and spending time with her family.

VYPE: What did it mean for you to receive an all-state nomination for cheer?

Emma Mason: I felt that my hard work and all of the years I have invested have paid off.

VYPE: What is the proudest thing you’ve accomplished cheering at Elk City?

EM: I feel like the proudest thing I have accomplished is being able to be a positive role model for the little kids in our community.

VYPE: How good is your Spanish?

EM: It’s there. . .

VYPE: You have coached tumbling and cheer and also volunteer in the nursery in your church. Do you have a passion for teaching/coaching?

EM: I love being able to influence the next generation. It’s so rewarding to watch them improve! I definitely am passionate about it.

VYPE: What are your post-high school plans?

EM: I plan to go to SWOSU for a few years and finish up at OU in Exercise Science and become a Physical Therapist.
