Kylar Adams is a freshman at Hydro-Eakly High School, and she is a member of the FFA chapter at school. Adams joined the FFA last year when she was in middle school.
“I’ve been showing animals since I was three, but just joined FFA the first year I could, last year,” said Adams.
Adams was encouraged to join the FFA by her parents who both were members in their FFA chapters while in high school.
“My parents have always been a big influence in my life. They always encourage me to be the best person that I can be,” said Adams.
There are many reasons Adams said she enjoys being in FFA, but like many of her peers, meeting new people is near the top of the list.
“What I enjoy most are the many opportunities the organization has and getting to meet new people,” said Adams. “FFA is a great organization to get involved in with and there are lots of opportunities for now and the future.”
Adams is involved in showing animals, trap shooting and speech.
“I’ve shown heifers, steers, and pigs. Currently just showing heifers,” said Adams.
Being a student-athlete at Hydro-Eakly is fun for Adams. She is on the softball and basketball teams, and she is a member of the cheer squad.
“I love being around the like-minded girls who have the same goals and values as me,” said Adams. “I love that as a team we are all close and everyone is always picking each other up.”
