Elk City High School senior Nick Medina entered his fourth year with the FFA chapter this year and is now preparing for his FFA career’s end.
During his time in FFA, Medina said the FFA has prepared him for what comes next in life.
“FFA prepares you by helping develop leadership and life skills that will shape your decision making and values for the rest of your life,” said Medina.
Medina said joining FFA was one of the best decisions he made his freshman year.
“One of my friends showed animals his whole life and it got me interested into showing,” said Medina. “I am involved in floral, welding, showing and public speaking.”
Medina said the FFA teaches you how to be a better person and always has something to help lead you in life. Medina has a role model in his father to help guide him through his young adult years of life.
“My father, he has always pushed me to do better and be better as a person, as a friend and at sports. Everything I do, I give it a 100% because of him,” said Medina.
A baseball player for the Elks, Medina said he would enjoy playing baseball at the next level given the opportunity.
“I love being part of a team, and having Jay McClure as a coach is awesome. He is always there for anyone on the team, and he makes the game fun to play,” said Medina. “I would like to play baseball at the next level.”
Also a football player, a member of FCA and part of the musical production team at Elk City HS, Medina is proof you can make the most of your high school years and leave satisfied with what you contributed to the school.
