Elk City athlete Jackson Ivester spoke to VYPE in a recent interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My Goals for the year are to have a successful tennis season, to complete a lot of scholarships, and to have fun!

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun I’ve had in the last year was probably skiing with my family.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

My favorite teacher I’ve ever had was Mrs. Williams, she was my third grade teacher and she was a lot of fun.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory was in a tennis match. I was playing at the OKC Tennis center my sophomore year against a kid two years older than me. I beat him and he threw a fit throwing his racquet over the fence and yelling. That same kid ended up placing 2nd at state and that was also the first match my dad traveled to watch me play.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me was Carter Senger. He was state champion his junior year, and i always admired his work ethic.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part of being on this team is watching my teammates do win and hearing them cheer me on.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

If I could choose any place for summer vacation I would backpack around Europe with my dad and a few friends.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

If you gave me $500 to spend in 24 hours I would probably invest it in hopes of growing it to put towards college.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

I participate in many community projects, a big one would probably be volunteering at the children’s library.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

Some clubs and campus groups I’m involved in are FCA and Vice president of choir.

VYPE: Are you involved in academic excellence activities such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, or other academic clubs?

Some honor activities I’m involved in are student council and senior class president.
