VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Angelina: The aspect I enjoy the most about being on a team is the necessity of forming a strong bond. In order to achieve success, it is crucial to place trust in your teammates. It is important not to allow any external controversies or disputes to distract you during matches. Effective communication and teamwork are essential. Moreover, both on and off the court or field, personal responsibility and holding oneself as well as teammates accountable are essential.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Angelina: I am passionate about my sports because I love playing them. They have shaped me into the person I am today. They have taught me valuable lessons about the person I am and the person I inspire to be.
VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?
Angelina: I started playing volleyball because my best friend Mia started playing and told me I should join so I did and now I love it. I started playing soccer because it is my dads favorite sport and I wanted to play with him. I started doing wrestling because it is the first year for girls wrestling and I wanted to try something new.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
Angelina: The best thing about being associated with Clinton is its esteemed reputation. Being part of the red tornado is rewarding due to its rich history and vibrant atmosphere. I understand that when I wear a jersey for any sport, I am not only playing for my own sake but also honoring those who have come before me.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Angelina: Coach Gordon is my favorite teacher, he was my geography teacher during my 7th grade. Throughout my academic and athletic journey, Coach Gordon has consistently provided unwavering support and assistance whenever I needed it. Moreover, he has consistently motivated me to improve my athletic abilities, become a better team player, and ultimately grow as an individual. I am also grateful to Mrs. Gordon even though she was never my teacher for her invaluable guidance and encouragement as well.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Angelina: Throughout my life, my mother has consistently been my foremost source of inspiration. Despite becoming a parent at an extremely early stage in her life, she refused to let the responsibilities hinder her progress. Determined, she diligently pursued her education while in high school, successfully completing it. Consequently, she secured an incredible job, allowing her to abundantly provide for both my brother and me. Ensuring that we have all essential necessities and fulfilling our desires has always been her priority.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Angelina: If I could go anywhere in the world I would go to Barelona Spain with my dad. He always talks about going there again and taking me with him. So hopefully one day I can take him there so we can make so many memories.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Angelina: My favorite meal has to probably be my grandma’s pozole that she makes every so often, especially with all the sides like chips, lettuce and sour cream.
