CLINTON RED TORNADOES

GIRLS

Coach: Two Jefferson

22-23 Record: 2-22

Clinton will be starting over under the direction of Two Jefferson in 2023-24 after managing just two wins last season. “We will be playing for respect this year,” Jefferson said. “As an alumni of Clinton and experiencing Lady Reds Basketball during a time when the program earned multiple state appearances, our goal this year is to breathe life and insert confidence into the program.” Forward Aryana Gray, and guards Katrina Curtis, Aerial Williams and Alexa Sambrano will bring senior leadership. Curtis has been the team’s vocal leader during the offseason. “Katrina is a returning player for the Lady Reds and is one of the few with experience. She has bought into the new system and has been a vocal leader this off-season,” Jefferson said. “She demands a lot of herself and others. As the locker room leader, she is consistently the first to arrive and one of the last to leave.”

Guard Brooklyn Aston will be counted on as an incoming freshman. “Brook has loads of potential,” Jefferson said. “As she continues to learn the game, she will be an impact player on both ends of the court. She is approximately 5-foot-10 with the ability to play inside and out. She has the ability to score at multiple levels as well as defend multiple positions.”

Junior guard Lillian Lime is the only player returning with playing experience. “She’s a player that leads by example, both on the court and during school,” Jefferson said. “She’s the player out front during conditioning and the first to offer positive feedback for her teammates.” Others expected to play roles include sophomore guards Kassandra Kaline and Gianna Burns, and forward Alyssa Day.
