It’s a great year to be part of the 2022-23 cheer team at Clinton High School. Head coach Cindy Bond is excited for this group and their goals this year.
“Our cheer squad were Class 5A State qualifiers in 2021-22 with the aspirations of placing at state this year. We also have several members who made the All-American Varsity Squad as well as numerous cheerleaders chosen to participate in the K101 Classic Bowl (2022),” said coach Bond.
The roster is loaded with great team members all around. Addison Newcomb is a top performers and flyers on the team.
“Addison is the perfect example of a cheerleader. She is naturally gifted but also is coachable. Fans love to watch her as she cheers as she is so exuberant and sharp. Addison will be a sophomore this year and has been in cheer for five years. Addison is CHS’s top flyer and was chosen as a member of the All-American Varsity Squad as well as K101 Classic Bowl,” said coach Bond.
Evelyn Ponce will be a senior this season and someone who is looked upon for leadership on and off the field.
“Evelyn is an incoming senior and has stepped into the role of leader and mentor with ease. Evelyn has been a cheerleader all through high school and was a member of the 2021-22 State Qualifying team as well as All-American Varsity Squad and K101 Classic Bowl,” said coach Bond.
