Calumet’s Carson Cooper – Presented By Farm Credit Of Enid

Calumet High School sophomore Carson Cooper is a member of the varsity baseball team and an active member in the FFA chapter at school.

Cooper got involved in FFA just a year ago and has enjoyed being part of the team, making the most of every opportunity the FFA offers.

“I first got involved in FFA my freshman year. Starting with showing and doing other CDEs,” Cooper said. “The people who got me involved would be my parents, my grandpa, and my ag teacher.”

FFA gives the student an opportunity to be responsible for their direction and affords them the opportunity to meet and compete against other students from Oklahoma.

“I enjoy FFA because I get to hang out with my friends and meet new people in different towns and states that also love what I love,” said Cooper.

The FFA offers many activities to its students. Cooper decided to be part of the Farm Business Management, livestock judging and showing livestock. Currently Cooper is showing swine and occasionally cattle. Cooper said anyone interested in FFA should do it.

“You can get involved in so many different activities and get to meet a bunch of people,” said Cooper.

His other passion is the baseball team.

“I love being on the baseball team because everyone at Calumet we are like brothers. We are just so close and all love the game,” said Cooper.

Once he graduates from Calumet HS, Cooper plans to attend Redlands Community College
