Players to Watch

Baseball

Peyton Roberson – Duncan

Peyton will be a leader for the team on and off the field. He is a four-year starter behind the plate for the Duncan Demons. He is committed to Hutchinson Community College to play baseball. He has been a staple in the Duncan lineup the past three years and looking to have his best season yet.

Jake Thomas – Elgin

Jake is a do-it-all for the team. He can catch play middle infield, will be an anchor on the mound, and will hit in the middle of the order.

Conrad Thomasian – Lawton

Conrad has taken on the leadership role of mentoring incoming freshmen throughout the summer and off-season sessions. He was voted by his team as the team captain and leader  of the team in all aspects of on and off the field behaviors and providing tutoring for kids who are struggling in the classroom

Kason Johnson – Walters

Kason is a left-handed pitcher and first baseman. He sits in the low 80’s and has a solid curveball. He is developing into one of the top 2A pitchers in the state.

Boys Soccer

Ayden Thompsom – Duncan

He is an outstanding young man who is a multi-sport letterman. Incredibly hard worker and a driven young man who is very passionate about the game and his connection to his teammates.

LeAndre Tucker – Eisenhower

LeAndre is a forward, four-year varsity player, and a fast player with very good foot skill and great finishing. He is attending ID camps to find the school that offers him the best academically and in the sport that he loves.

Pasqual Arredondo – MacArthur

He’s a fantastic player that can read the game three plays ahead. And can play anywhere on the field.

Girls Soccer

Kaitlynn Runnels – Cache

Kaitlynn is a senior goalkeeper. She has made amazing saves in her high school career and is looking to play at the next level. As a modern goalkeeper, she is comfortable directing traffic on the field and playing with the ball at her feet.

Hanna Brew – Duncan

A talented athlete who has grown into a leader for a very young team. Has improved tremendously in not only her athletic abilities but as a teammate and leader. Very hard worker that will do whatever is asked of her. 

Bryleigh Wells – Elgin

Bryleigh works hard. She has great leadership skills and is the first to help her teammates out. She is motivated and encouraging to everyone. She stays late to do one-on-one keeper training.

Rubiann Aldana – MacArthur

She is a great leader. She commands her backline and keeps the whole team organized.

Michael Barham – Duncan

Barham has worked hard and has shown a lot of promise.

Aidan Hooee – Lawton

Hooee brings a lot of skill to the field and should continue to grow and improve.

Jermaine Chasenah – Walters

He is a smart baseball player and looks to have a solid season.

Landon Holthaus – Duncan

Holthaus is a tough kid that always gives his all. 

Austin Kaplan – Eisenhower

Whether it is on the field or in the classroom, Kaplan knows what it takes to be successful. 

Boomer Nix – MacArthur

Boomer is a great kid and an outstanding member of the team.

Kylee Tottee – Cache

Kylee has worked hard to become the player that she is today. 

Olivia Barrette – Elgin

There is a lot of potential with Barrette and she will look to play a bigger part this season. 

MaCalah Burkhart – MacArthur

Burkhart puts in the work and time and wants to be the best player she can be.

Whenever hard work is on the agenda, Korbin is one of the first ones to volunteer.

Alyssa Morgan – Lawton

A great kid that does whatever it takes to be successful.

Ashton Guinn – Walters

Guinn loves the game of baseball, and you can see that when he is on the field.

Jeriah Jackson – Duncan

Jackson is a solid person and a lot of his help for the team does not show up on the stat sheet. 

Kyle Thomas – Eisenhower

On the field, Thomas is an outstanding team player, while he is a great teammate off of it. 

Joseph Doerr – MacArthur

Doerr is a great kid and works hard to be the best athlete he can be.

She puts in the hard work and is always ready to help her team however she can.

Alexis is a great kid that brings a tough mindset to the team.

Bryce Kahla – Altus

Bryce is a shortstop and the team’s number one pitcher. He hits from both sides of the plate and is the leader of the team. 

Cooper Cummins – Hollis

Cooper is an extremely talented baseball player. He represents everything that one could ask, from being a leader on and off the field, having an unbelievable work ethic, to simply being a great young man with manners and respect. He is an all-state caliber athlete and will have the opportunity to play at the next level if he chooses to do so. 

Luke Rogers – Mangum

A four-year starter that has been a part of a state quarterfinals team, Luke is also a three-time district champion. He is an outstanding utility player and also a solid pitcher.

Caden Konen – Navajo

He is the senior leader. Only returning player from last year with three years’ experience. Caden does a good job leading the young guys.

Alonzo is a four-year starter that has been voted team captain for two years. He looks to have a big season.

Kyleigh McGough – Altus

A team leader and a hard worker, Kyleigh will be an impact player for her squad this season.

Gillispie has worked hard to get where he is today.

Being a skilled athlete, Ames is ready to take a bigger role on the team.

Ashton knows what it takes to be the best ballplayer and he is working hard to get there. 

Keaton Fixico – Navajo

Keaton knows the game of baseball and his high baseball IQ is impressive.

Rodriguez is the type of athlete that is always ready to help his team however he can.

Whether he is on the field or in the classroom, Carson works hard at whatever he is working on.

Brett Griffith – Arapaho-Butler

Brett is a great player in all phases of the game. He hits in the middle of the order, and he hits for power and average as well, hitting around or over .500 every season. Not only is he a good player, but he is also a great leader. He leads by example and is a great role model for the younger players in the program. 

Dalton Williams – Canute

Dalton has been a four-year starter at catcher for Canute. He has hit over 40 home runs in his career and has been a defensive star behind the plate. Dalton has committed to Seminole State College.

Kameron Rivera – Cordell

Very unselfish. Can play multiple positions as well as pitch. Very competitive. Great young man, very coachable. Swings very consistent and put down a bunt when asked.

Drake Hughes – Elk City

Drake is a two-year starter at shortstop, and he is a dynamic player. As a junior, he led the team in batting average, hits, RBIs, runs scored, and stolen bases. Drake is also great in the classroom and a good young man. 

Rylan Belcher – Mountain View-Gotebo

Very good all-around player. Best position is catcher but is also one of the top pitchers on the squad. He is a middle-of-the-order hitter with power but can also hit for average. Very knowledgeable about the game and provides leadership to the younger players.

Adan Flores – Clinton

A three-year starter on defense that is very comfortable under pressure has great ball skills. He understands the game, he is like another coach on the field always communicating and always in the right place. 

Nike Cloud – Elk City

Nike is a natural leader. He is quick on and off the ball, has good vision, and is a finisher. He can make the short and long passes as well as the long shot. He is a set-piece expert and can play any position. His best is probably left midfield.

Ronaldo Garcia – Weatherford

Ronaldo has been one of the team’s most consistent players. He is a very good tactical player. He started as a freshman and continues to be the guy that makes the team successful.

Girls Soccer

Maria Nolasquez – Clinton

Maria is a leader on the team, and she is a great example for the younger players to look up to. She is an outstanding player.

McKenzie Simon – Elk City

Plays center back and midfield. She has played soccer her whole life and has signed to play in college. She can be put in any position and be the best player in that position. Also, she is a phenomenal shooter.

Chandy Kirby – Weatherford

Chandy is a senior who has been a three-year starter as center mid. She has committed to play at Southern Nazarene University. She is a hard worker and has a great understanding of the game. She has all the components of a successful student-athlete. She is involved in many different organizations and excels in the classroom as well.

Carlisle is a hard worker that goes out of his to help his team.

Colby Madddox – Canute

Throughout the offseason, he has put in the work to get better.

Shane Perkins – Cordell

Shane is an outstanding kid that does the dirty work that no one else wants to do. 

Cooper Church – Elk City

Cooper works hard in practice in order to be the best player that he can be. 

Jagger Worley – Mountain View-Gotebo

He is a smart baseball player that works to help his teammates.

Seve Martinez – Clinton

Whenever Martinez steps on the field, his coaches know that they are going to get his best.

Saxon Poole – Elk City

While Pool is not the star of the team, he works hard to make an impact however possible.

Jonathan Bodenstein – Weatherford

Jonathan does a lot of the stuff that most players do not want to do, but it is important for the team’s success.

Reigan Miller – Clinton

Reigan is an excellent all-around person and does whatever she can to help her team and teammates. 

Amelia Shawn – Elk City

Amelia works hard to make an impact on her team but a lot of what she does is not represented on the stat sheet. 

Ella Barnett – Weatherford

Ella has worked hard and hopes to play a bigger role for the Lady Eagles.

Baseball

DeMarcus Smith – Ardmore

DeMarcus is a senior left-handed pitcher and outfielder. He is a great leader on and off the field, including the team leader in GPA with a 4.07. His work ethic and attitude set an example for the rest of the team. He has worked extremely hard this offseason on a lot of little things to make him a better player. 

Stephen Sisco – Madill

He is a super athletic junior who plays three sports and is an unselfish kid. He should be able to play at the next level.

Morgan Pearson – Plainview

Morgan has a solid arm from centerfield and behind the plate and will contribute on the mound for the team this season. His position versatility along with his raw talent is what makes Morgan so special. He has multiple Division 1 collegiate offers in both baseball and football.

Collin Wharton – Wilson

Collin was one of the team’s best-run producers last year as well as being an excellent pitcher. He has a .417 batting average, 39 RBIs with 17 runs in 21 games.

William Todd – Ardmore

Todd is an outstanding soccer player and has put in a lot of work and time to get to where he is today.

Francisco Perez – Madill

He is like having another coach on the field. Perez is a fantastic team leader. 

Girls Soccer

Madison Chavez – Ardmore

Madison is very competitive. She loves a challenge to better herself by going against someone she knows is going to push her to her limits. She has incredible speed and endurance. She will run through a brick wall if she is chasing a ball. She never stops and she has a desire to win.

Jimena Guevara – Madill

Jimena is a four-year starter. She is an example of the type of athlete you want on your team. She is an excellent student and an accomplished athlete in all the sports that she participates in. Jimena is someone who does not know how to fail; she will always find a way to achieve her goals.
