Hobart’s Davis Reents Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Cattlemens Bank

Davis Reents is a senior at Hobart High School and he has a few people that have been influential in his life.

“David Smith is someone that I look up to,” he said. “He’s always talking to me about sports and helping me out when I get stuck. Coach Montgomery talked me into doing wrestling and I’ve had the most success there and l’ve fallen in love with it thanks to him. Bradley Reents is always there for me, shows up to almost every event I have, and supports me all the way. Coach Sims, always motivates me and tells me the truth, and pushes me to work harder. Finally, Zack Maddox is my construction teacher at Vo-Tech. He works hard and helps out when you need him, and he helps you sep the world from other people’s perspectives.”

As a student at Hobart, Davis is a member of the Bearcats’ football, wrestling, and track teams.

Outside of sports, he is a part of the National Honor Society and the Student Council.

Along with having the influence of those around him, Davis has also invested a lot so that he can be his best.

“It has taken a lot of time, hard work, discipline, and pain for me to become the athlete that I am today,” he said. “There are times when it is difficult or I don’t want to do it but I keep myself motivated by wanting to be at the top of my sport and compete with the best athletes.” And Reents is seeing the benefits of all that work that he has put in when he is competing. He says that the highlight moment of his career was placing second at the Max Dipple wrestling tournament.
