The defending Class 2A state champions return under the leadership of head coach Jennifer Hohmann. This season the program which has dominated Class 2A has a new challenge on their hands. “With our school’s growing numbers, this year we have moved up to Class 3A in cheer. It will definitely be a challenge, but our girls have worked hard to add new skills and make a run for another championship,” said coach Hohmann.
The cheer program at Hinton is what a lot of schools strive to be. Their dedication to being one of the top programs in the state is inspiring. Coach Hohmann said the team is consists of cheerleaders who are not only dedicated to their sport but are involved in many other activities around campus. “Hinton cheer is a five-time state champion program and have won the last four years (08, 17, 18, 19, 20). They are dedicated and hard-working cheer squad at football, basketball,
Wrestling with many team members who are multi-sport athletes in softball, basketball, track, and wrestling,” said coach Hohmann. Now as a Class 3A school, Hinton will face other cheer programs with tremendous success such as Washington, Eufaula, and Lincoln Christian, but under coach Hohmann, if there is one thing you can count on, it’s the Hinton squad being prepared, well-coached and ready to compete.
