Elk City’s Unsung Hero – Presented by First National Bank and Trust of Elk City

Brianna Butler
Softball
When the Lady Elks take to the field, one senior known for bringing the energy will have the dugout and the crowd fired up. Brianna Butler is a big part of the middle of the lineup and a solid first baseman.
“Softball has always and forever been my favorite sport,” said Butler. “I look forward to enjoying my last year with my teammates and coaches, I also look forward to making it to the state tournament.”
Butler said she loves the atmosphere at their games and loves playing with this group of teammates.

“The atmosphere of support we have is outstanding, I never come to a game with empty stands. What I love most about this group is our drive to be better. We work hard. We don’t miss early morning lifts. We are always striving to be better than the other team. I would keep an eye on Aubrie Pouge and Ella Sottile, both solid athletes and their work ethic is insane. They don’t just work for themselves they work for their teammates also,” said Butler.
Aside from softball, Butler plays basketball, serves as president of the student council, and is involved in FFA and FCA.
Butler said her favorite subject in school is English, taught by Mrs. Thompson. After graduation Butler plans to attend college and study early childhood development. She would like to eventually become a teacher.
As for her senior year, Butler said she wants her class to leave their mark on Elk City High School.
“I want my class to be remembered for how close we really are. I think everyone knows everyone in my class. We have no problems. We all just bond super well,” said Butler.
