Elgin senior Jordan Johnson is a staple in the community while also being a star on the softball diamond. She plays both slow and fast pitch softball for Elgin, playing pitcher and third base.

Jordan is highly motivated in both athletics and in school, and she contributes that to her family.

“My family is full of athletes, and I want to make them all proud,” Johnson said. “My mom is my biggest role model because she is a single mom who takes care of everyone, she is the most selfless person I know. My mom often takes care of people that she doesn’t need to take care of, but she wants to.”

It isn’t all fun and games though, Jordan says you sometimes need to sacrifice some social life experiences to be successful at your sport.

An opponent Jordan likes to play and beat the most are the Cache Bulldogs, because of the rivalry their schools have built up and that they all pretty much know each other.

The best social media follow for Jordan is Kinzie Hansen. “Kinzie Hansen is very inspiring to me and I really enjoy her posts,” said Johnson.

Jordan participates in travel softball, playing with the Oklahoma Bulldogs. She is also a part of the National Honor Society.

Jordan knows that everyone on the teams she plays for have their own jobs and responsibilities. “I feel like everyone that I play with has their own jobs and responsibilities, and they all do a good job at getting them done,” added Johnson.

Jordan is headed to play softball at the next level, taking her talents to Northern Oklahoma College on an athletic scholarship in 2023. Jordan is very excited to finish out her senior year and to experience a new team and school experience at NOC Tonkawa.
