Coming into the 2021 cross country season, Kaceson Lolar of Duncan High School is preparing for what could be another outstanding year. As a junior, Lolar enjoyed his share of success running for the Demons and his head coach Todd Ledford is expecting more of this same this season.
“Kaceson is the only senior this year and had a breakout season last year as one of the top runners in Class 5A. Kaceson had several races where he ran sub 17:00 in his 5k. Kace is an excellent leader for the younger athletes and has really matured into a great runner,” said Ledford.
The opportunity to help his team win and continue to improve are driving forces behind the senior.
“I expect this upcoming season to be pretty successful and even though our team is pretty young this year I think there will be great improvements and that we will be able to keep up with any other team in our region,” said Lolar.
Having been in the sport since the sixth grade, Lolar said spending time with his teammates is one thing that makes being on this team so much fun.
“I love how well my team gets along and how fun everything is with them. Long runs are nice moments and probably the time we bond the most, especially when we just start talking about random things like how our day was and what’s been going on during the week, and in hard workouts we always push each other to be better,” said Lolar.
Look for Lolar and the Demons to enjoy another great season behind the leadership of coach Ledford.
