Former Lawton MacArthur student Trinity Hoffman is now an ROTC cadet at Cameron University. Cadet Hoffman is now a sophomore in college, but her ROTC journey started in high school.
“I was in JROTC for three years in high school,” said Hoffman.
Being part of the ROTC program was a natural step for Hoffman coming out of high school. For Hoffman, there are many things about the program she enjoys.
“I liked how the cadets got a long with each other and how they helped each other outside of ROTC,” said Hoffman.
The Criminal Justice major said she enjoys seeing what military service will consist of after she graduates. Hoffman plans on turning her military service into a career.
“I enjoy labs on Friday, being able to see what it will be like at advance camp before I go,” said Hoffman. “I am planning on staying in the military for at least 20 year, but we never know what life has in store for us.”
For Hoffman, being part of the program is just one step in what she hopes will develop into a full career in the Armed Forces. At Cameron University, the ROTC program is developing future officers for our nation’s military. Hoffman said anyone wanting to be part of a great program should take the time to learn as much as you can about it and enjoy it once you are in the program.
“I would tell them to have fun with it. Don’t get caught up in trying to learn everything at once. Be serious when you need to be serious, but also have as much fun as you can,” said Hoffman. “I have made so many new friends and have a new family that I can count on if I need help. Best decision I’ve made so far.”
