Our family plays a big role in our lives. For some, it can be positive, while for others it is negative, but the influence that they have on us can be big. Karsen Williams says that his family has played a huge part in helping him become the person and athlete that he is today.
“The biggest influences on my life would have to be my siblings,” he said. “The success that they had in athletics and academics, both in high school and in college, has been something that I use to make sure that I am on the right path.”
Williams is a senior at Anadarko High School where he is a multi-sport athlete. On the football field, he is leading the team at quarterback, while on the basketball court he plays guard, and shortstop on the baseball field. He has been playing all three sports for the majority of his life and he says that he owes the success that he has had to two groups of people.
“I give all the credit of my success to my parents and coaches,” he said. “Because without them I wouldn’t be as successful as I am today. They have pushed me and encouraged me along the way.”
Over the span of his career, Williams has had some memorable moments on and off the field, but he says that out of all of them there is one that stands out as his favorite.
“I think the highlight of my career would have to be when I was named to the 2022 All-State football team,” he stated. “It is a huge honor, and it shows that the hard work that I put in over my career has been recognized and has been worth it.”
Along with the sports he plays, Karsen is also a member of the Native American Club and the National Honor Society. He serves as vice president of his senior class and was recently selected as Valedictorian of his graduating class.
