Union City Lady Tigers
Coach: Ashley LaGasse
22-23 Record: 11-13
Head coach Ashley LaGasse enters her first season at the helm of the Union City girls basketball program which features some talented, but young athletes. Coach LaGasse said this season is about gaining experience and growing as a team.
“This year is all about revamping. I’m a new coach coming into a very young group. We have solid leaders to direct our freshmen who will get a lot of time on the floor. This group has a solid core and is ready to prove it,” said LaGasse.
The two seniors on the roster are Payslie Locke at guard and Megan Goad at forward. Both players are capable of helping this team as leaders and as seniors. A pair juniors dot the lineup as well. They include Morgan Brothers at guard and Breanna Goad at guard. These four will need to push the underclassmen and help them as they prepare for the rigors of a long varsity season.
A group of sophomores will play a big role for coach LaGasse, either as starters or players coming off the bench. The sophomore group includes Juliana Pappe (G), Lily Russell (G), Victoria Stucks (G), Tahlea Gerner (F), and Trestan Sutton (F).
An exciting crop of freshmen make up the largest class for Union City. The freshman class includes Gracie Ague (G), Kamryn Cook (F), Keely Riley (F), Raelynn Holt (G), Faith Hess (F), Violet Maselli (G), and Reyna Mendoza (G). The team managers are Keaten Wood and Skylar Morgan. Assisting coach LaGasse is coach Travis Boots.
This will be a team to watch as they figure out their identity under one of the top players, now coach, who played high school ball in Oklahoma.
