VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing baseball?

Andre: I started playing baseball in fourth grade. I got into it because I decided if I was going to be stuck learning at school might as well have fun afterward.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team? 

Andre: My favorite part about being on the team is knowing that I am surrounded by people that count on me to do my best.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about baseball?

Andre: I am passionate about baseball because I have been playing since a young age and it is something I always look forward to.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Andre: William Trachte has left the biggest impression on me because he managed to have outstanding grades while still being a leader on the field.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing Lawton Eisenhower as an athlete?

Andre: I think representing the school as an athlete is an excellent title because you never know what people are going to look back on one day and realize they went to school with someone like me.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?

Andre: Shohei Ohtani is an athlete that I look up to because to be able to move countries and go out of your comfort zone and still perform well is beyond impressive.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Andre: My fourth and fifth-grade science teacher, Claudia Montgomery. She taught me that everywhere I go there is going to be someone who looks down on me for no reason but it’s up to me to prove them wrong.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Andre: I want to give a shout-out to all the people who never gave up on me and my dreams, to the people that stuck by my side when the air got thin.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Andre: I would go to Thailand for my summer vacation and I would bring my family along with my girlfriend.
