CHEER
Zaria Porter – Lawton
Zaria always has the best attitude at practice and at games. She is willing to try anything her coaches ask of her and takes directions great. She is a great senior leader and is a true asset to the team.
Liberti Simmons – Waurika
She is a senior who has been part of the cheer squad for four years. She takes the lead on learning new material and teaching what she has learned to her teammates.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Hunter Monostori – Elgin
Hunter is the senior leader on the team. He sets the tone in practice and on race day. His best time this year is 16:43. He currently has the sixth best time in Class 5A. He has learned the team culture of working hard to compete on race day from previous senior leadership and is imparting the culture to the underclassmen.
David Rich – Lawton
David is the driving force to the boys team, he leads by example and is a great asset to the team.
Carson Burd – Lawton MacArthur
Carson is a Junior, two- time state qualifier, placed twenty-sixth last year. Has had a solid off-season, and early season so far and is looking to be on the podium this year with a realistic goal of finishing in the top 10.
Lucas Boyd – Waurika
Lucas is a freshman and running cross country for the first time. He is getting faster every race. He does a lot of running on his own so that he can do better during meets. He has medaled in every meet this year so far.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Audrey McElhaney – Elgin
Audrey is a junior currently ranked second in Class 5A with a 5k time of 18:57. She’s a hard worker and has been putting in the mileage and practice since June. She will be a state champion contender.
Lyric Swatzell – Lawton
Lyric is working her way to becoming the first female runner at Lawton High School to qualify for state three consecutive years. She uses her ability on the course to push the other girls on the team.
Jaci Gholson – Waurika
Jaci is a junior that has become one of the top runners in the area. She is also the leader on the team. She is working to become on of the top at Waurika.
