GIRLS
Coach: Whitney Ludwell
22-23 Record: 16-12
Last season saw the Lady Owls advance to the Area round of the postseason before making an exit. They will look to improve this season and make a deeper run in the playoffs. One of the key players for the team this season will be Kelby Carter (5-11, So.). She averaged 12.2 points in the regular season and 17.8 points in the playoffs as a freshman last year. She was the team’s leading rebounder and a VYPE Top 100 nominee. She has so much strength and is dominant in the paint.
Kynli Garrett (Fr.) is coming in as a freshman this year and is an amazing all-around athlete. She will be the starting point guard and leading the offense. Kynli is a very competitive player, and she is always willing to do what it takes to win a ballgame. The team will look to its upperclassmen Kelly Langford (Sr.), Addy Choate (Sr.), Madison Nez (Jr.), Kylie Wood (Jr.), Braisley Mullins (Jr.), and Maya Mota (Jr.) to be big time contributors this season. Other members of the team to keep an eye on are Danika Pendley (So.), Kamber Crow (So.), Kennidi Sanders (So.), Marissa Meraz (So.), Jazmyn Simmons (So.), Emma McKillip (So.), Kynli Garrett (Fr.), Lilly Talliaferro (Fr.), Bella Hernandez (Fr.), Sabrina Williams (Fr.), Leina Martin (Fr.), and Decora Monoessey (Fr.).
