VYPE: Why are you passionate about baseball?
Haygon: I’m passionate about my sport because I remember being that little kid growing up wanting to go play in the big leagues. It was my dream since I was 4 years old and I hope to achieve it, that’s why I am passionate about how I play and mastering my skills.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Haygon: The teammate that has made the biggest impression would have to be JT Crabb. He was on my high school baseball team a couple years ago and he set a good example for me and helped me throughout the years to make sure I was the best version of myself.
VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?
Haygon: It would be Derek Jeter for sure. I grew up watching him and I appreciated how he played and how he did the little things right and paid attention to detail and he plays the same position as me so I looked up to him.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Haygon: My favorite memory of all time would have to be last year whenever it was a tied ball game at the bottom of the eight and I ended up hitting a walk off triple. There is no better feeling then having that dog pile at the end of the game.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Haygon: The people that inspire me would be my parents because they started with nothing whenever they were young and now they are living a happy and successful life and set a good walkway to walk down and create my own path at the end.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Haygon: My favorite teacher would be Miss T. She is my senior English teacher and she is so involved with everyone in the class and she understands you and helps you along with anything and everything you need.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Haygon: My summer spot to go would be the Virgin Islands for sure and the people I would bring would have to be my friends from school and my girlfriend.
VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
Haygon: It would probably be from my math teacher’s wall, actually, and it says “failure to prepare is preparing you to fail.” I don’t know but something about that just hit with me.
VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Haygon: I would definitely have to give a shoutout and thank you to my parents because, if it wasn’t for them, I don’t know where I would be without them they have strived to push me to be my best self and help take care of me for years and made sure I was who I wanted to be and are my best friends in life.
