PLAYERS TO WATCH
Gunner King – Comanche Jr.
A middle infielder that hits at top of the lineup and has good at-bats, King is known to also “make all the plays” defensively.
Chago Barham – Duncan Jr.
As a sophomore, Barham hit .460 with 58 RBIs and 20 Doubles while leading the Demons to a 5A state championship. He was named a MaxPreps underclass All-American, but he knows the expectations are even higher this season. “He is a kid that everyone looks up to on the diamond,” Duncan coaches say.
Hunter Stephens – Ringling Sr.
Stephens is known for his hard work and confidence while being challenged. He “does whatever he can to help his team succeed.”
Haygon Jennings – Rush Springs Sr.
Jennings, a versatile infielder and right-handed pitcher, is an outstanding player that will play a key role for Rush Springs this season. He was an all-conference selection as a junior and has not yet committed to play in college.
Caven Kerns – Velma-Alma Sr.
Caven had an outstanding year last season before a season-ending injury two weeks before district play. During his sophomore year, he played center field and committed only one error the entire season. He got the knack for playing short stop his junior year and will reprise that role. He will also close on the mound.
UNDERCLASSMEN TO WATCH
Colby Shannon – Comanche So.
Shannon started every game as a freshman. He is solid on defense and very talented with the bat, hitting two home runs as a freshman. He looks to have a big season as a sophomore this season.
Eli Ramirez – Duncan So.
Ramilrez, a three-sport athlete playing football, baseball and wrestling, is known about Duncan for his unbelievable athleticism. After battling back from pectoral tear, he burst on the scene for the Duncan’s state title run last spring. He closed out the final two games of the season in the state tournament, pitching an incredible 44 strikeouts in only 20 innings.
Brisco Smith, So., and Hudson Morgan, Fr. – Marlow
Both players look to make an immediate impact on the field for Marlow this spring. Morgan is the third-ranked player in Oklahoma’s 2026 class and committed to play at Oklahoma State in Sept.
Tyler Williamson – Velma-Alma So.
A Cyril transfer, Velma-Alma has enjoyed Williamson’s talents on the gridiron and the diamond since last summer. His coaches commend his coachability in both sports. He bats and throws right and will most likely lead off and play third base and be in the starting rotation on the mound.
UNSUNG HEROES
Brady Dobbins – Comanche Sr.
The only senior starter for Comanche, Dobbins is a very good pitcher that eats up a lot of innings and hits for power in the middle of the lineup.
Bryson Brooksher – Duncan Sr.
Brooksher, a Murray State commit, plays his heart out every second he’s on the field. He started nearly every game in centerfield last year while hitting leadoff. He had an incredible junior year and is looking to have a big-time senior year.
Landon Harris – Velma-Alma
About everything that comes out of Harris’ mouth ends in “sir,” his coaches say. The Velma-Alma senior is playing only his second year of baseball, but he has never been told to hustle or pick it up. Harris’ game has made leaps and bounds, and he is expected to make significant contributions to Velma’s team this spring. Harris joined the military and completed his basic training this summer.
