Comanche’s Mackenzie Levelille – Athlete Spotlight – presented By Rusty England State Farm Agent

Comanche High School senior Mackenzie Levelille is involved in many school activities including being a member of the varsity cheer team.

“I have been in cheer for six years now and I love how supportive cheerleaders are of each other,” Levelille said. “It doesn’t matter whether or not you’re on the same team, we have each other’s backs.

The support from her fellow cheerleaders is one big reason Levelille loves being part of this squad.

“My team and I always support each other even on the days we might not agree. If someone needs something we are always willing to help each other no matter what it is. Our coach is the same way. She is always checking on us and making sure we’re staying on top of the other things we need to do,” said Levelille.

Away from cheer you can usually find Levelille involved one of many activities such as National Honor Society and others.

“I am my schools National Honor Society Secretary and our Business Professionals of America President. I also help with the elementary cheer team from time to time when they ask me to. I am also in Tech Tribe which is a small group of students at my school that help our IT crew,” said Levelille. “I plan to attend Cameron University; however, I am still deciding on a major.”

Levelille said an older sibling has played a major role in her life.

“My older sister Madison has been my biggest influence in everything I do. She did high school cheer for four years and we cheered together for one. She was also in the original Tech Tribe group and helped encourage me to join everything I am in. She continues to be active at Cameron University and I hope I can follow in her footsteps,” said Levelille.

As a captain of the team, Levelille said showing good leadership and being a good example is her focus.

“I want them to know there’s always someone they can come to if they need to talk or need help with something. I know sometimes it can be hard to talk to adults about stuff, so I want to be there to help support them when they need it but don’t want to involve parents and teachers. My team is always welcome at my house and in my car if they need it,” said Levelille.
