Q&A with Chickasha’s Bryan Lopez – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Bank of Commerce

Chickasha baseball player Bryan Lopez spoke to VYPE in an interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

One of my personal goals is to graduate high school and start learning the family business.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory would have to be when I hit a grand slam against Blanchard at home last year with the stands full of people who came to support us.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that left the biggest impression on me was Braxton Givens. He had an injury early in the year, and he showed me to never give up. He worked hard but silently.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part of being on this team is the family-like bond that we build. We all support and push each other to be the best we can be every day. I also know they will have my back and I will have theirs.

VYPE: What Clubs or Campus groups are you involved with and why?

I am part of the National Honor Society and the baseball team here at Chickasha High School.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

This sport has taught me that it can get hard, but no matter how hard it gets, it will always get better. The tough times you go through will make you better. Just because you fail once, it’s not the end of the day. You get tested a lot in this sport, but the only thing that matters is how you get back up.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

The best advice I was given was to enjoy the game and the experience, because life is short and memories last a lifetime.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

My whole family inspires me. They have pushed me to believe in myself and make myself better every day.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

I would like to give a shout-out to my family, my coaches and most importantly the man above for making me who I am today.
