DIBBLE DEMONS

GIRLS

Coach: Cameron Corbin

2022-23 Record: 13-12

Three months ago, Cameron Corbin inherited a promising Dibble team that finished north of .500 a year ago. “We have a pretty young team,” Corbin admitted, “but we are anchored by three very solid seniors. I truly believe that this group of girls has a chance to be very special.” Kaylei Clanton (5-6, Sr.), Macy Merrick (5-5, Sr.), Daaliyah Fuentes (5-6, Sr.) will lead the charge. “Kaylie is a senior guard that is a four-year starter for us. She has put in a ton of work this summer,” Corbin said. “She is a great two-way player that any team would want on her team. Great leader on and off the court.” Merrick, Corbin said, does “all the things that don’t always end up in the score book.” She plays forward for the Demons. “[Merrick] will run through a wall for you and her tenacity is contagious. We cannot wait to see her on the floor this season,” Corbin said. Shilah McGaha (5-6, So.), an impressive underclassman, will play no small part in Dibble’s success this year. “Shilah is a sophomore guard who saw quite a bit of action last season. She has unlimited range from three and is a great defender as well. We are expecting big things from Shilah this season,” Corbin said. Kailyn Caywood (5-9, Jr.) is a “great basketball player,” but a better person, Corbin said. “KK is the epitome of an athlete with character.” Dibble opens the season at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at Verden. The Demons open at home against Alex at the same time Dec. 1. They’ll play in the Velma-Alma Tournament on Dec. 7-9; the Davis Tournament on Jan. 4-6; and the Grady County Tournament on Jan. 15-20.
