Chickasha’s Layton Bryan – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Bible Baptist Church

High school athletes put in a lot of time and work in order to be ready to compete when game days come around. In order to be his best, Layton Bryan says that you have to do more than just work on your game.

“Being successful takes a lot of hard work and dedication,” he said. “Not just on the field but in the classroom too. You also have to do the little things right. My biggest motivation is knowing that I have family and friends that depend on me to be great. Also, my love for the game drives me to be my best.”

Bryan is a junior at Chickasha High School, where he is a member of the baseball team. Outside of sports, he is also in the National Honor Society and he is an honor roll student.

Along with the work that he has put in, Layton also has people in his life that are there for him and help him become who he wants to be.

“My parents are my biggest role models because they taught me how to play the game and are always there for me and they taught me how to be a role model to my brother,” he said. “Coach Johnson is my favorite teacher. He has taught me how to be a great player on the field and off he has taught me how to be a great leader in the classroom.”

When asked what teammates he enjoyed working with the most in practice, Layton took a moment to answer.

“I enjoy working against all my teammates,” he stated. “But if I have to choose one it would either be Bryan Lopez or Kyler Venable. I don’t get to compete in the same position as Bryan but we love to try to out hit each other but with Kyler I compete in the middle infield with Kyler and we compete on the mound.”

When he has downtime, Bryan enjoys checking out social media.

“My favorite person I follow on social media would be Max Clark. He shows that you don’t have to be from a big town to do great things.”
