Chickasha’s KK Willard – Volleyball Spotlight – Presented by Dehart Heat and Air

A member of the varsity volleyball team, KK Willard is enjoying her sophomore season with
the No. 15 th ranked team in Class 3A.
“There are many great things about this group of girls that I play with, but my favorite is
how our relationships are off the court. I can trust my teammates with anything, and they
are always pushing me, and each other to do better at whatever it is we are doing,” said
Willard. “Chickasha is a great place to be a student-athlete because you have teachers who
know what it is like to be a student-athlete and they push you to keep you’re grades up, and
you have coaches who care about your education just as much as you do.”
Willard grew up playing basketball, which she loved playing, but when she traded the hoop
for the net, she knew it was a sport she wanted to pursue.

“I have enjoyed getting to share my knowledge and love for the game with all of the
younger girls on the team and helping them find their love for the sport the same way the
upperclassmen did for me. There is lots of talent on the floor this year, but one person you
should definitely be looking out for is Zoee Jones. She is a DS/setter and can move around
the floor with ease. She is a very hardworking and determined player who is willing to do
whatever it takes to get a spot on the floor,” said Willard.
In the classroom, Willard is a member of Nation Honor Society and is enjoying all her
classes and teachers.
“Normally I would never say this, but since starting my sophomore year my favorite subject
has been English, with Mrs. Jantzen as my favorite teacher. She makes the class that I used
to dread going to very enjoyable and I look forward to attending her class every day,” said
Willard. “I hope to go to college and study biology and eventually become an orthodontist.”
Willard said she wants her class to be remembered for their motivation and determination
to continue to improve in whatever they want to pursue in their lives.
