Growing up, there were not too many sports Kaytlin Keith did not try. Today the Chickasha High School junior is a member of the varsity volleyball team, soccer team and she works as the team manager for the boys’ basketball team. She’s also in National Honor Society, and she takes Health Careers courses at Canadian Valley Tech and one day would like to work as a nurse.

“Growing up I’ve played softball, cheer, tennis, volleyball, and soccer. Out of all of these, volleyball has been the best to play,” said Keith.

As a member of the volleyball team, Keith said loves the support they give each other and the way they come together on and off the court.

“I love how my team wants everyone to succeed. I love when one of do something good and the whole team celebrates with the person. It makes you feel appreciated and loved as a teammate. I think all of my teammates are extremely talented. Two I think you should keep your eye on is KK Willard, and Zoee Jones. They’re both only sophomores this year, which is very impressive. They both are incredible defensive players, and I can’t wait to watch them improve even more through high school,” said Keith.

“My favorite moment so far this season was our tournament at El Reno. Although we didn’t start off playing very well that morning, we gave everything we had and ended up leaving with a plaque.”

Playing for her school and her town is special to Keith.

“I’ve always loved this town. I think it’s the best place to be a student-athlete because of the spirit the school has, especially the staff, they’re awesome,” Keith said.

In the classroom, Keith enjoys math the most.

“I’ve had lots of great teachers growing up, but my favorites would have to be Mrs. Jantzen, Mrs. Molder, coach Goble, and Mr. Widener,” said Keith.

As great as her teachers are, one person stands out amongst them all.

“My mom is my greatest influence. She’s taught me so much in life, and she’s the strongest woman I know. I’m so grateful to have her.”
