CHICKASHA FIGHTIN’ CHICKS

GIRLS

Coach: Jace Johnson

2022-23 Record: 8-17

Chickasha girls coach Jace Johnson has his sights set on winning more games as his third campaign starts next month. “Entering our third season within the same program, I believe we’re ready to make some big strides,” Johnson said. “We have several sophomores that will play pivotal roles for us that received playing time as freshmen. We’ll be led by USAO commit, senior Serenity Golightly.” Golightly (5-4) averaged 14.0 points per game as a junior and committed to play for the Drovers in August. “She has been our leading scorer the last two seasons while also guarding the opponent’s best guard,” Johnson said. “She will be our team leader and will be expected to handle a lot of the load for us this year.” Mea Ginn (5-7, So.) had an electric year scoring 12.0 points a night for the Chicks. “Mea was solid for us last year and will be huge for us this year,” Johnson said. “She is a strong kid that is constantly working on her game. She has been gaining interest from NAIA and JUCO schools. I believe after this year, she’ll gain a lot more.” Fellow sophomore Addi Ferguson (5-5), a budding point guard, will be “an integral part” of the team’s future success. “Addi is another up-and-coming sophomore,” Johnson said. “She is an extremely hard worker that has been putting in extra time outside of practice.” The Chicks open the season Friday, Dec. 1 at home against Community Christian School.
