The Chickasha cheer team is looking to set itself up for a successful season. Under the leadership of head coach Lisa Turner, the team is expected to reach its full potential for the 2023-2024 season. “2023 cheer has a great group of girls that work together, efficiently and are just now starting to realize the potential that they possess.” Turner is confident in the skills that each member has, and she provided an update on the team and the expectations they are looking to achieve going forward: “We are finishing up regionals in State Competition season and are now turning our focus on the upcoming stunt season that begins next spring.

There are a lot of routines to learn and work to be put in but these girls will be able to do it. They are driven and just a great group of girls to be around.” The team is built by solid girls that are looking to be successful. The success of the team, though, would not be what it is without the leadership from the older members, and the willingness of the younger members to learn and grow. “We have a great senior class that is leading these girls as well as a great junior class coming up behind them. We have eight freshmen that are learning a lot in a very short time, but they are getting the hang of things quickly.” Between the bond that the members share, the intentional coaching and leadership, and the positive mindset amongst the team, this is the year for Chickasha Cheer. “The future looks bright for Chickasha Cheer,” Lisa says, “and be on the lookout for updates on our stunt season and some possible games that we may host for stunt here at Chickasha in the early spring.”
